Welcome to Vanessa Korboi – my little corner of the internet where I give myself the opportunity to share the things I love and document life as it unfolds.
My family and friends call me V, Aunty V, Vee, or Nessa, a 20- something year old Bilingual Liberian-American who has called the DMV area home for the past 10 years. My journey has been shaped by both personal curiosity and professional growth.
Fun fact: Vanessa (vah-ness-ah) means “butterfly” in Welsh which is a symbol of transformation and growth.

I have worked in the non-profit and international development space for the past six years, with a background in public health and program management supporting initiatives across the public health and agriculture sectors. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to contribute to work that strengthen systems, expand access, and support communities in building sustainable solutions.
I am especially fascinated by women’s health , not just the science of it, but the stories, the disparities, the cultural layers, and the strength that very much often go unseen. Women’s health sits at the intersection of policy, access, culture, and lived experience, and I am deeply curious about how we can create more informed and empowering spaces for women everywhere.
Outside of my professional life, I am passionate about all things health, plants (you can all me a plant Mom), deep conversations that stretch past small talk, music that feels like therapy, journaling, coffee, tea, and travel. I am simply a curious being, always trying to learn, asking questions, trying to connect the dots. This blog is a reflection of that curiosity (a space where my interests, experiences, and evolving thoughts meet).
I also have a youtube channel , where you can find recent updates.
“Love Yourz” = Love your life, your journey, your flaws, your blessings.
